💰 Funding News
Wellth, a digital health company that uses behavioral economics and machine learning AI to encourage people to prioritize their health, has raised $20 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by SignalFire (Yuanling Yuan, Principal).
Quantexa has raised $129 million in a Series E funding round led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC. Quantexa uses AI and other tools to provide anti-fraud and anti-crime solutions to businesses, governments and other major organizations.
NuMind, a natural language processing software startup, has raised $3 million in seed funding from investors including Flybridge, Carya Ventures, and Y Combinator. The company uses large language models and interactive AI development to help customers create machine learning models for NLP tasks such as sentiment analysis and chatbot creation.
Covariant is an AI Robotics company that has raised a total of $222 million in funding, with Radical Ventures and Index Ventures co-leading the most recent $75 million Series C round. Covariant's AI platform, the Covariant Brain, has been applied to a broad set of warehouse operations and can be leveraged by a variety of robotic systems regardless of use case, facility type, or location.
LangChain, a framework for developing applications powered by language models, has raised $10 million in seed funding led by Benchmark, with participation from other investors.
Valyant AI, a company that provides AI-powered drive-thru ordering technology to restaurants, completed a funding round of $17 million and partnered with Paerpay to automate ordering and payment at drive-thru locations.
Everstream Analytics, a global supply chain insights and risk analytics company, has raised $50 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Morgan Stanley Investment Management and StepStone Group, with participation from existing investor Columbia Capital.
Teton has raised $5.3 million in seed funding from early-start venture firm Plural. The Danish startup has developed an AI-driven nursing companion, which uses smart cameras installed in hospitals and care homes to monitor patient activity and alert nurses when care is needed.
LightMetrics, an AI-based platform for real-time driver coaching and driver safety analytics, has raised $8.5 million in Series A funding from Sequoia India to expand its video telematics platform globally.
Customers.ai, an AI-powered sales outreach automation platform, has raised $4.99 million in Series A funding to develop generative AI-powered sales automation tools for business-to-consumer companies. The funding round was led by ScOp Venture Capital, with participation from New York Angels and Beyond Angels.
Vytelle is a precision livestock company that uses breakthrough in-vitro fertilization technology, animal performance data capture, and AI-based genetic analytics to genetically improve cattle. The company has raised $20 million in Series B funding, led by Forage Capital Partners to expand its global operations and provide accessible and reliable reproductive technology to customers.
HeartFlow is a global leader in precision heart care that uses advanced AI technology. The company has raised $215 million in a Series F funding round led by Bain Capital Life Sciences and joined by Janus Henderson Investors, Baillie Gifford, Capricorn Investment Group, Hayfin Capital Management, HealthCor, Martis Capital, USVP, and Wellington Management.
Chroma is an AI-native open-source embedding database that allows developers to add state and memory to their AI-enabled applications, preventing hallucinations. It has raised an $18 million seed round led by Astasia Myers from Quiet Capital, with participation from angels such as Naval Ravikant, Max and Jack Altman, and more

2. Reid Hoffman of Greylock sat down to discuss the current state of AI with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on the Greymatter podcast. Hoffman’s recent book, “Impromptu”, was co-written by GPT-4.
