TLDR: Ford has launched Latitude AI, a subsidiary developing a hands-free, eyes-off-the-road automated driving system for next-generation Ford vehicles. The company has brought together a 550-person team with skills in software, robotics, machine learning, sensors, systems engineering, and operations. The team will be reimagining the customer experience by automating driving during tedious and unpleasant times, such as in traffic or on long stretches of highway.

Latitude AI is staffed with former Argo AI employees with experience in cloud platforms, software development tools, mapping, sensors, test operations, systems, and safety engineering. The team's primary focus is expanding on Ford's existing BlueCruise technology to bring fully automated driving to millions of vehicles.

TLDR: Stability AI has launched Stability for Blender, a new tool for its Stable Diffusion community-driven AI platform that enables users to generate textures, videos, and other materials within Blender. Stable Diffusion is an AI post-processing tool that can transform creations with the use of post-processing effects. This new addition allows users to add AI post-processing effects to renders using an internet connection without requiring expensive hardware.

Stability for Blender enables users to generate textures and images for any purpose, animate properties in Stable Diffusion using Blender's built-in animation system, and streamline workflows by generating textures and videos directly within Stable Diffusion. This tool is an officially supported, zero-hassle way to use the Stability SDK inside Blender, allowing users to create highly customizable assets that reduce time and cost.

TLDR: Brave Search, a free and open-source web browser that focuses on blocking online advertisements and website trackers, has launched a new AI-powered feature called the Summarizer that provides concise answers to user queries at the top of search results pages. The Summarizer uses multiple sources of information present on the web to produce accurate answers expressed in coherent language. Original sources of data are cited at all times, and users can easily turn off the Summarizer if they prefer not to use it.

The Brave Summarizer replaces the already query-dependent snippets with a summarized version of those snippets, highlighting the answer when possible. Brave Search processes daily peaks of 600 queries per second, with a summary generated for around 17% of queries. While there is a possibility of producing "hallucinations" or false/offensive text, Brave is committed to improving the models as user feedback comes in.
