TLDR: Microsoft has made its AI image generator tool, powered by OpenAI's DALL-E, available to Edge users around the world.
Users can create visuals for social media posts, slideshows, and documents easily by asking the AI to generate images while they are browsing the web.
The tool is currently optional and can be added to the Edge sidebar by users. Microsoft is also introducing other features to Edge, including the Drop tool and a personal notebook that syncs across devices.

TLDR: Google plans to add conversational artificial intelligence features to its search engine, which would allow users to interact directly with the company's LLMs through its search engine. This move could upend the traditional link-based experience that has been the norm for more than two decades. Google is testing several new search products that allow users to ask follow-up questions to their original queries.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai dismissed the notion that chatbots posed a threat to Google's search business, which accounts for more than half of revenue at parent Alphabet Inc. Advances in AI would supercharge Google's ability to answer an array of search queries, according to Pichai. Microsoft has already deployed the technology behind ChatGPT, one of the biggest threats to Google's core business in years, in its Bing search engine.
The Big Picture: The stakes in the AI race in search are particularly high for Pichai, as search ads remain the biggest moneymaker for Google, bringing in $162 billion of revenue last year. Google has pushed forward with its AI efforts despite the cost cuts, accelerating work on new products following the breakout success of ChatGPT.

TLDR: AI startup Anthropic aims to raise up to $5 billion to enter over a dozen major industries, including building a "frontier model" ten times more capable than current AI models, requiring a billion dollars in spending over the next 18 months.
Anthropic's frontier model, called "Claude-Next," will use the company's "constitutional AI" training technique, seeking to align AI with human intentions and provide a simple set of guiding principles to ensure ethical use.
The frontier model could automate large portions of the economy, including virtual assistants, product-related searches, document editing and content generation, therapy and coaching, and education at all levels. Anthropic's backers include Google, Facebook, and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

TLDR: OpenAI stated yesterday it is working to address data privacy concerns that led to the Italian data protection authority, Garante, temporarily blocking ChatGPT last week.
In a meeting between the two organizations, the watchdog underscored the importance of complying with EU privacy rules and OpenAI's executives promised to address concerns, although details of the remedies have not yet been released.

TLDR: The Guardian received an email about a specific article that could not be found on their website or in their systems. The article had never been written; ChatGPT had invented the piece when asked about articles on the subject.
The use of generative AI that invents sources is concerning for trusted news organizations, journalists, and readers. It raises questions about the legitimacy of citations and could fuel conspiracy theories about the removal of sensitive articles that never existed.
💰 Funding Alerts

The company will use the funds to accelerate the search, transformation, and analysis of robotics data to help companies get their robots into production faster.
Field Materials, a San Jose-based software firm, has raised $4.65 million in seed funding led by Blumberg Capital and joined by Zacua Ventures. The startup has developed an AI-driven program to streamline materials procurement for contractors, using AI-powered checking systems to monitor delivery slips and invoices to minimize delays and catch errors. The product aims to replace traditional manual methods like Excel, Word, and paper-based systems to aid professionals in the construction process.
Native, a market intelligence platform, has raised $3.5 million in seed funding to enable brands to build digital clones of their customers using generative AI. The funding round was led by Jumpstart Ventures and Ivy Ventures, with participation from 11 Tribes Ventures and Connetic Ventures. The platform uses its own proprietary generative AI model to create customer "digital twins" based on real-time industry, consumer and product data to provide insights and answer questions about products, preferences, and interests to the users of the platform.

This is just insane…
My GPT-4 coding assistant can now:
- build and design a frontend
- create a backend with working db
- correctly hook them up
- upload code to GitHub
- deploy it to VercelI can now build *complete* apps with nothing more than my voice.
The future is here!

2. AI has been making exponential progress in the past several months. It has already begun fundamentally changing the way we live our lives in many ways, but nearly all AI developers would agree that all progress is working towards the same common goal: Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). AGI will have the ability to either launch the world into the next great age of human innovation or destroy everything we know. Matt Wolfe made a great video explaining AGI and the progress that we’re currently making toward it with Auto-GPT. (YouTube)

🧠 Resources
In this section, we'll give you some prompts to incorporate AI into your day-to-day life. We've developed these prompts to help you explore how you can use AI to make difficult tasks easier and more efficient. Don't worry, you don't need to be an 'AI Whisperer’ to try these out! Just give them a shot and let us know how they worked for you. We would love to hear your feedback!
Remember, these prompts are just starting points. You should iterate on the prompts and tailor them to fit the jobs that you want to get done. If you want to specify the information sources used in each answer, add excerpts from sources of your choice and ask the chatbot that you’re using to base its answer on them. Chatbots aren’t perfect and tend to hallucinate so be careful in choosing your sources.
Paraphraser Prompt
Transforming ChatGPT into a paraphrasing tool, you'll be able to rephrase text without altering its meaning.
"Your new role is ParaGPT, the paraphrasing tool. I will provide you with text, and your task is to rephrase it using different words, sentence structure, figurative language, or any other necessary changes while maintaining the original meaning/significance. Please confirm that you're ready by saying 'Ready, enter your text.'"
A Better Way to Learn with ChatGPT
ChatGPT will become your guide, helping you explore a concept or topic using an open-minded, inquisitive approach. The AI will ask questions to deepen your understanding of the subject, and identify any misconceptions or gaps in your knowledge.
"Let's dive into a topic that interests me, and you'll assist me in exploring it further by asking questions. Together, we'll develop a deep understanding of the topic, and you'll give me feedback to spot any misunderstandings or gaps in my knowledge, similar to the Feynman technique. While exploring, feel free to ask me specific questions that challenge my understanding. I'm excited to learn from you!"
Practice Prompt Engineering with ChatGPT
Test your prompt engineering skills by challenging ChatGPT to solve complex problems. The AI will respond with a prompt that demonstrates its ability to understand the problem and generate an effective prompt. This exercise will help improve your ability to create effective prompts for ChatGPT.
"Your task is to test my prompt engineering skills. Create a challenging problem that requires me to use ChatGPT to solve it. However, the problem shouldn't be self-explanatory from within its context, so be sure not to reveal the end goal to me. After I respond with a prompt that I hypothetically created with ChatGPT, provide feedback on my answer. I'll answer follow-up questions to ensure my understanding of the subject matter."
