TLDR: Salesforce is launching AI Cloud, a suite of products aimed at delivering "enterprise-ready" AI solutions and incorporating generative AI across its platform.
AI Cloud hosts AI models from partners like Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Cohere, and OpenAI, as well as Salesforce's own AI research division.
The suite includes nine Salesforce-built models that power new capabilities in products such as Data Cloud, Tableau, Flow, and MuleSoft, covering areas like sales, service, marketing, commerce, and collaboration.
The fund has already invested in companies like Cohere, Anthropic, You.com, Hearth.AI, Humane, and Tribble, prioritizing ethical AI technologies and supporting diverse projects, including automation platforms, wearable AI assistants, and AI-powered search engines.

TLDR: Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic will provide priority access to their AI models to the U.K. government for research and safety purposes.
The agreement aims to improve evaluations and understanding of AI systems' opportunities and risks, supporting the U.K.'s ambition to become a leader in AI safety regulation.
The U.K. plans to host a global summit on AI safety in the fall, likened to UN COP climate change conferences, to drive discussions and collaboration on AI regulation.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak detailed the plan on his Twitter:
AI is the defining technology of our time and we have a clear strategy to develop it in a safe way that will benefit everyone in the UK.
Here’s what that looks like 👇

TLDR: American tech giants, including Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft, have limited access to their AI chatbots in Hong Kong, possibly due to concerns over violating China's national security law that criminalizes government criticism as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
The moves by tech companies to restrict services in Hong Kong align with a trend of treating the city more like mainland China, potentially limiting the free flow of information and nudging it closer to China's heavily censored internet environment.

TLDR: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres supports the creation of an international AI watchdog body similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to address concerns and regulate the development and use of artificial intelligence.
Guterres plans to establish a high-level AI advisory body to review AI governance and provide recommendations aligning with human rights, the rule of law, and the common good. He finds the idea of an AI agency inspired by the IAEA "very interesting" but clarifies that only member states can create it.
