TLDR: Expedia is launching a ChatGPT feature, powered by OpenAI, within its app to help travelers plan their trips by conversing with a chatbot. The feature is rolling out to all iOS users this week, but will only be available in English. There is no set time for Android users yet.

  • The tool saves hotel recommendations it makes in the conversation automatically within the Trips section of the app.

  1. Covariant is an AI Robotics company that has raised a total of $222 million in funding, with Radical Ventures (Jordan Jacobs, Managing Partner) and Index Ventures (Mike Volpi, Partner) co-leading the most recent $75 million Series C round. Covariant's AI platform, the Covariant Brain, has been applied to a broad set of warehouse operations and can be leveraged by a variety of robotic systems regardless of use case, facility type, or location. The company plans to use the funding to help retailers and logistics providers quickly deploy robotic picking without disrupting their current operations.

  2. Everstream Analytics, a global supply chain insights and risk analytics company, has raised $50 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Morgan Stanley Investment Management and StepStone Group, with participation from existing investor Columbia Capital. Everstream Analytics uses AI and predictive analytics to deliver complete and accurate information for smarter and more autonomous supply chain management. The funding will be used to further develop Everstream's technology and expand its predictive insights and risk analytics capabilities for supply chain functions, helping to build lasting supply chain sustainability for progressive organizations.

  3. LangChain, a framework for developing applications powered by language models, has raised $10 million in seed funding led by Benchmark, with participation from other investors. LangChain is offered as both a Python and a TypeScript package and offers pre-built chains and agents, as well as integrations with different model providers or hosting platforms, vector databases, and other tools to allow language models to interact with their environment. The company plans to invest in tooling and development to make language model applications work better in production, enabling developers to build useful applications powered by language models.

  4. Valyant AI, a company that provides AI-powered drive-thru ordering technology to restaurants, completed a funding round of $17 million and partnered with Paerpay to automate ordering and payment at drive-thru locations. Their AI system, Holly, interacts with guests to get progressively smarter and complete orders faster and more accurately. They also provide restaurant owners with machine learning-powered tools to manage their drive-thru systems more efficiently.

  5. MakerVerse, an AI-powered on-demand manufacturing platform, raised $10 million in Series A funding led by 9.5 Ventures, with participation from existing seed round investors like Siemens Energy and ZEISS. MakerVerse plans to expand its one-stop-shop platform for advanced manufacturing, integrate it with customers' existing systems, and build capacity for more large-scale production orders.
