TLDR: Music streaming giant Spotify has unveiled a new feature called "DJ," which is an AI-powered personalized guide that curates a stream of music tailored to a user's taste. The feature uses Spotify's personalization technology and generative AI through OpenAI to recommend music based on a user's listening habits and provide insightful facts about the music, artists, or genres.

It constantly updates its lineup based on a user's feedback, and users can change the music by tapping the DJ button. Additionally, the feature uses a dynamic AI voice platform from Spotify's Sonantic acquisition to create a realistic voice that brings the DJ to life. Currently in beta, the DJ feature is set to transform the listening experience on Spotify. It scans the latest releases to find new music that users will love or takes them back to nostalgic playlists from the past.

TLDR: Fudan University's MOSS chatbot platform, described as a conversational language model, went viral on Chinese social media after its announcement earlier this week. The platform was touted as the first Chinese rival to OpenAI's ChatGPT. However, MOSS crashed hours after its launch due to a sudden surge of traffic and was no longer open to the public by the next day. The team behind MOSS apologized for the crash and clarified that MOSS is still an immature model that has a long way to go before reaching ChatGPT's level.

The Fudan University team explained that insufficient computing resources and engineering experience led to the crash, and they expressed their heartfelt apologies to everyone. While MOSS generated much interest, the team acknowledged that it still had much to improve, and they downplayed the comparison to ChatGPT. Despite the setback, the development of MOSS shows China's growing interest in developing chatbot platforms that utilize artificial intelligence or machine intelligence technology.
