They join over 350 signatories to endorse the following letter published by the nonprofit Center for AI Safety: "Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."

EU industry chief Thierry Breton will meet Sam Altman in San Francisco next month to discuss the implementation of the EU's AI regulations. They will also explore the possibility of OpenAI joining a group of companies that will adhere to these rules in advance of their official enforcement in 2026.

1. Vectara, raised $28.5 million in Seed funding, led by Race Capital (Alfred Chuang, Founder and General Partner) along with other investors such as Stability AI’s Emad Moustaque and formed a Strategic Board of Advisors with Matei Zaharia, the Cofounder and Chief Technologist at Databricks.
Vectara is a conversational GenAI search and discovery platform that enables businesses to have intelligent conversations over their own data, leveraging cutting-edge NLU technology.
With the funding, Vectara plans to further develop and enhance its hybrid search and grounded generative AI capabilities, aiming to expand accessibility to these breakthrough features.
2. Wellplaece, a product purchasing platform designed for dental offices, raised $5.5 million in Seed funding, led by Eniac Ventures and Bee Partners, with participation from Erik Anderson, co-founder and CEO of WestRiver Group; Haroon Mokhtarzada, co-founder and CEO of Rocket Money (formerly Truebill); Andy Oreffice, former CCO of Affordable Care; and entrepreneur Francis Hellyer.
Wellplaece is an automated, multi-vendor supply product purchasing platform designed for dental offices. They use AI to optimize procurement for dental offices, providing cost savings through streamlined supplier sourcing, order management, and consolidated billing with efficient handling of returns and chargebacks.
Wellplaece plans to use the funds to expand its operations and increase its business reach.
